FAQs
What percentage of light does sun screen material cut out compared to block out?
Block out materials proving 100% block out and the sun screen material provides 85-90% block out. It blocks the glare of the sun but still allows natural light to come in. It also restricts people looking in, in day time light.
Will block out blinds stop all light coming in?
The fabric will provide 100% block out but light may come through on the side. We do have multiple ways to prevent that light coming in through the side if needed.
What is the difference between block out, light filtering and sun screen material?
Blockout is made from polyester base cloth with many different coating to give it a solid blockout effect
Light filtering: Has less coatings and will let light in but still give you privacy
Sunscreen: Polyester coated PVC weave and can be 3% 5%,!0% openness. The amount of view you will see will depend on the colour and the light. Sunscreens give you privacy when there is more light outside than in but at night this can be the opposite so a good option is to have both Sunscreen and Blockout.
What our blinds customers say…
Block out vs Sunscreen
Block out is a solid material with different compositions which blocks out all light and gives 100% privacy.
Light filtering allows natural light to come in, whilst still providing privacy.
Sunscreen Roller Blinds
Sunscreen is polyester coated mesh. It comes in 3%, 5% and 10% openness.
Sunscreen material restricts light and glare from coming in but allows you to still see out depending on where the light is.
